The Berry Dairy is a family-owned pick-your-own strawberry farm located in Maffra in Central Gippsland.
Our strawberries are grown spray-free, using careful crop management, beneficial insects and plenty of hands-on work throughout the season.
Strawberries don't continue to ripen after they are picked, so look for berries that are fully red. Because this is a real growing crop, the amount of ripe fruit changes with weather, temperature and how busy the patch has been.
We keep our social media updated with the latest strawberry-picking conditions, particularly after very busy days, prolonged wet weather or extreme heat.
Growing our strawberries spray-free
We grow our strawberries spray-free rather than relying on routine pesticide spraying.
That means regularly walking the patch, removing damaged or overripe fruit, managing weeds by hand and using natural helpers including beneficial insects as part of our pest-management approach.
Our strawberries aren't always perfectly shaped and the patch isn't always perfectly weed-free — but that's part of growing the crop this way.

Yes. You can visit our farm café, playgrounds, dog park and farm shop without buying a Farm Pass.
