Seating & Weather
Most of our seating is undercover and fitted with fans for warmer days and heaters for cooler weather. This provides some protection from sun and rain, but please remember that The Berry Dairy is an outdoor farm venue, so areas may still be affected by wind, temperature changes and wet weather.
We recommend dressing for the forecast and bringing suitable footwear, especially if you plan to visit the strawberry fields or farm animals.
Our Berry Dairy Room is fully enclosed and air-conditioned. If you would specifically prefer indoor seating, please request this area when booking, as spaces are limited.
Umbrellas are also available for guests to use during their visit.
Gippsland Rail Trail
Located just 3km from the Gippsland Rail Trail, The Berry Dairy is the perfect place to stop and refuel during your journey thought the beautiful Gippsland countryside - or make it a destination for your biking journey, as it is an easy flat 20 minute bike ride (one way) from Maffra township.
Accessibility
The Berry Dairy is set on mostly flat ground, with accessible pathways connecting the café, seating areas, bathrooms and main farm attractions.
Our facilities include:
Accessible bathrooms
Accessible café and seating areas
An accessible pathway providing access around the main visitor areas
Step-free access to the petting zoo, lavender patch and strawberry picking areas
As a working farm, some surfaces are gravel and may become wet, soft or slippery after heavy rain. We recommend suitable footwear and extra care during wet weather.
Guests with specific accessibility requirements are welcome to contact us before visiting so we can help make their day as comfortable as possible.
The Middle of Everywhere!
There is far more to explore around The Berry Dairy than a single farm visit.
Tinamba Hotel and Maffco Brewery are both must-visits and sit only around five minutes either side of The Berry Dairy, making it easy to build a full day around great food, local drinks and a farm experience.
A little further afield, Glenmaggie Wines and Blue Gables Vineyard are both within about a 15-minute drive. The area is also home to beautiful parks, rivers, walking tracks and plenty of other places to explore across Maffra and Central Gippsland.
For travellers driving between Melbourne and Sydney along the A1 Princes Highway, consider taking the scenic route through Maffra and stopping at The Berry Dairy along the way.
